Taken in my back yard, this Cooper's hawk comes to my yard to hunt the birds at my feeders. I will come around every six weeks or so and hide in a tree. It has caught at least one pigeon but hopefully no more. I did very little to the image other than to crop it. Canon 1D MK III/ Canon 400 2.8F 4.5/1/125/ISO 400.

Beautiful image, Bruce. Nice and sharp with well done bokeh.Overall good light/dark balance and earth tone colors show off the bird and its environment. Maybe add a slight catch light in the eye? Very nice image. This could be used to illustrate a glossy nature book. Posted: 05/11/2025 14:38:46
