Downy Woodpecker. by Marina Neyman

December 2024 - Downy Woodpecker.

About the Image(s)

took it yesterday with my new Sony 7CRV camera and 100- 400 mm Sony lens. Settings: ISO 2000, f/5.6, 361mm, 1/2000 sec.
One of the reasons to update my camera (Sony 7CR III) was to get AI autofocus. It is a fantastic feature - it focuses on the bird's eye instantly.
It is cold in Cleveland, 20 degrees and windy. This woodpecker was the only model that appeared in the park and sat for me for only a few seconds. I was grateful for the opportunity to try my new camera!

Marina - wow nice shot. The woodpecker is tack sharp and the resolution is amazing.

You will probably hear that the branch is distracting and yes, you could edit it out. Otherwise the great shot.   Posted: 12/11/2024 19:41:10

Nice, sharp view of a cute downy woodpecker! You captured the wonderful catchlight in his eye (it is a male, I believe), and the image is nice and sharp.   Posted: 12/11/2024 20:03:51
