November 2024 - Tribute to Bear 399

This is a very difficult posting as The World Famous Bear 399 was hit by a car about two weeks ago in the Tetons.
I was fortunate enough to see Bear 399 and her cubs a few years back.
She was 28 years old and Tom Mangelsen documented her and her cubs for some 17 years.
I will miss you Bear 399

I had heard of this tragedy--so sad. But what a wonderful image of the bear and cub. I love the fact that they seem to be looking at the same thing, though we can only guess what that thing is. Nice light on the bears, and their fur looks really soft. Posted: 11/18/2024 14:15:30
