About the Image(s)
Just North of San Francisco is my favorite beach in California: Point Reyes National Seashore. It offers just about everything like: Whales, Sharks, Dolphins, Sea Lions, and all sorts of birds and other wildlife. This image was captured near the Lighthouse and is on a cliff overlooking the beaches North of the Lighthouse. I had a hard time showing how vast everything is. So, my question is: should I have left in the fence, or should I have walked up ten feet to an overlook without the cliff. Please give me your thoughts.

Don, I know the spot. For arousing a feeling of awe, it is equal to Big Sur. Yes, maybe there is too much fence, attention getting white fence. But you do need foreground. Why not try different crops, crops that use the hut on the right side a bit more?   Posted: 10/01/2026 14:02:34
Thanks Charles. I agree with you. I have a shot taken about 20 foot to the right and it just shows the coastline. I think I will work on that one. Thanks. My photography buddy who was along with me, saw the image and asked why there was a fence in my image. I told hime to keep people safe. He offered me his shot of about 20 foot to the right. Your comment helped a lot.   Posted: 10/05/2026 01:07:14

Hello Don, I am new to the group. Was there a few months ago to get out of Sacramento heat. As Charles says, would ditch the fence and crop smaller using the rock formation as your foreground anchor. Depending on the crop, may need to use an easer to get rid of any leftover fence.   Posted: 10/05/2026 19:09:09
