LOCATION: Khaira Bari is a remote village of West Bengal, India.
Chili is cultivated in fields by villagers and then dried in open fields under sunshine; it is a very old and natural process of drying chili before selling to traders. Place the chillis cut side down on a cookie sheet and place them in direct sunlight for at least 8 hours. Turn them over at dusk and cover them with a clean bed sheet or towel to prevent bugs. Remove the sheet the next morning to continue drying.
EDITING: I used PS CS 2025 to edit the frame, by a desktop computer. I used adobe camera raw 18 plug-in to enhance clarity, shadow details, brightness and exposure. I also used Topaz software to reduce digital noise.

Thanks a lot for your nice observations. It was a very hot sunny day and we were waiting for the best moments of the workshop under sunshine. Your comment has inspired me so much and I like to visit the village again for more opportunities.   Posted: 04/11/2026 16:22:37
