About the Image(s)

This photo was shot early morning at a vegetable farm in Bloomfield, CT. The humidity was high and the sky was overcast and uninteresting. Once a thriving farm spread over several hundred acres, Wade’s Farm now cultivates only 2-3 acres of seasonal vegetables.

In PS I changed the “Blah” sky into a dramatic night sky, erased several electric wires and cropped substantially.

Mark, I like what you did to bring out the colors of the tractor and device in the shed. Yes, the sky was blah, and you were creatively courageous replacing it with a night sky, but it seems unnatural. The webbing in the tree somehow did not allow the edge of the replacement to penetrate the branches. It is a minor matter, but the crop pinched the left side of the image a bit too much, IMHO. Nonetheless, the image is quite arresting.   Posted: 11/03/2025 20:56:52

Hey Mark, I sort of agree with Charles. I opened your image in Photoshop and tried some different skies and did not see one I thought was a good fit. I do think the left side is a little tight. It may just be one of those places you need to visit again at different times of year, or different times of day (or even at night). Photoshop does make it easy to change backgrounds and skies, but sometimes you just have to keep an eye out for a better opportunity to re-shoot. I do it all the time. I would love to shoot all the stuff in the barn and by the tractor. Thanks for sharing.   Posted: 11/05/2025 06:49:33
