LOCATION: Mirik is a small town and a municipality of Darjeeling district in the state of West Bengal, India. A floating fountain in the middle of the lake is a joy forever and very often you may find the glory of Kanchenjungha reflected in the lake waters. A rich forest with thousands of Cryptomaria-Japanica trees clothes the slopes on the west. A 3.5 km. zig-zag footwalk takes you along the lake ??“ a sleek footbridge connects the garden on the east with the woods on the west. Explore the 3.5kms road around the Lake. Boating on the Lake & Horse riding on direct payment.
EDITING: I used PS CS 2023 to edit the frame, by a desktop computer. I used adobe camera raw 16.4 filters to enhance clarity, shadow details, brightness and exposure. I also used Topaz software to reduce digital noise.

You have chosen an excellent crop to strengthen the composition. Strengthening the colour of the bridge and sky added vibrance to the principal features. The clouds could be more dynamic, which would add to the story. Well done. Cheers Brian   Posted: 05/10/2025 07:05:49
The strength of the bridge with those clouds is really strong in my opinion. (As Brian suggested.) Here are some picky ideas that may or may not add to what you have:
I would crop out the right side getting rid of the path and likely the blue building. The first tree on the left could be cropped out as well to reduce the complexity of the photo.
For me, the greens are not what they could be. This likely has to do with the strong sun. A circular polarizer might help by getting rid of some of the strong sun. However, you may be able to pick the greens from the trees and adjust the hue a bit to bring back some of the green. I've had some luck with adjusting the hue, but it is tricky.
Regardless, you seem to be beaconing me to take a holiday in India!
