I shot this street scene in the town of Assisi in Italy. It captured perfectly the scenario of what the men do while their wives go shopping.
Post processing involved considerable exposure and light adjustments to bring out the subjects in the shade and some cleanups on the left side of the image. I titled it “THE BOYS”.

Excellent processing. I smiled at the happy expressions on their faces which are all very clear. You have absolutely captured the relaxed atmosphere and friendships in this group. Great shot.

As I told an old friend that retired last year: let me know if I can join your group of guys at the local filling station!
This captures what I see of, um, guys of a certain age I seem to be nearing - talking it up. What I love is the surrounding stonework showing isn't the "local filling station". The simple and almost secondary color of the stonework (and the different ages of the stonework) gives a nod that this is not the "new world".
In the end, we are all the same.... and hoping she doesn't spend too much on shoes again! Posted: 05/12/2025 03:23:12
