About the Image(s)

Wetland Park is a place with many common bird species in Florida and is easily accessible. I woke up early and took this photo during sunrise, although the sky was full of fog. I shot this image directly with the lens facing the sun at a high shutter speed of 1/2500s to avoid damaging the sensor, then adjusted the aperture to gradually control the light. However, I chose the Olympus, a micro 4/3 camera, which is very light for travel, and it has built-in ND filters, so you don't need to attach a filter to the lens. Metadata attached

Quang Phan, a travel camera with its own ND filters is so useful. I like the tone established by the fog in this image. Bringing out the yellow haze added to this effect. For unexplainable reasons, my eye wants the snake-like tree removed. What are your thoughts?   Posted: 03/16/2025 19:46:06

Quang Phan:
This is a beautiful image, and is unusual due to your shooting directly into the emerging sunlight. However, I would have taken out the larger of the two trees, as it seems to overpower the entire image.

I too have moved over to the Olympus 4/3 camera gear in recent years.

I agree with Mark in that the larger of the trees overpowers the image. My first glance was "snake!" (Might be something to work with there!)

Without the larger tree this is an amazing photo to me. The tones and setting suggest hot and/or muggy. The trees suggest a tropical environment. And I really like the distant trees being out of focus.

I do like the color changes you added.   Posted: 03/23/2025 04:28:46
