About the Image(s)
This is a photo of the American Embassy on the 2 nd anniversary of the
attack on the World Trade Center in New York. The American Flag flown at
half-staff is a tribute to the many who died on that tragic. Day.
In post-processing I extensively cropped on the left side of the frame and
cleared out much of the street clutter. I lightened the right side, changed the
sky and high-lighted the flag.
Camera: Canon Power-shot SX 10 -IS
Exposure: 1/640
Apperture: f-4.0

Mark, what a touching moment. Prague is ideal for photography. I like what you did to lighten the shadows and more illuminate the Flag. The colors in the sky, as they are rendered on my monitor, are slightly oversaturated.   Posted: 03/16/2025 19:33:30

I like the edits you did to enhance the flag and the crop.
Just picking on these comments: The colors between the two buildings seem a little different and not sure if they should be similar. Also - I took a seminar with an architectural guru here on PSA and suggested the lines could be corrected in most cases. The close building is really diverging from vertical with the far building close - but still diverging in the other direction. I still like a lot of photos with these issues (normal for most lenses) but now I have the guru's voice in my mind trying to correct various items to include vertical lines in architectural photography.

The colors of the buildings are true to life, and the divergence between them is due to a curve in the street toward the right.

I share the same thoughts as Brian. Another suggestion: I feel that the original aspect ratio, which includes the left area, creates a more balanced and visually appealing composition.   Posted: 03/31/2025 16:47:54
