About the Image(s)

This is quite a beautiful spot for capturing autumn leaves, though it depends on the weather each year. I took many photos with models but saved one without a model to submit here and share.

I chose to shoot from an uphill angle looking downward. Since I was shooting with models, I didn’t switch lenses and used a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. The camera settings were 1/160s, f/2.8, and ISO 200.

I used Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) to increase contrast and applied a slight blur to the distant center area to create a blurred effect and enhance the depth of field (DOF).

Quang Phan, this is a beautiful image. Splendid colors, lovely composition. I like the softness added in the distance. I'd suggest making even more of a DOF statement by selecting then sharpening the leaves in the foreground tree on the right side of the image.   Posted: 12/10/2024 23:32:10

Quang,

Love the colors on this one!

the bare(ish) branches on the left are something to watch for (you likely already did). I find myself moving back and forth on a location on this one trying to get the trees to balance out a bit.

Not sure of the location, but I often make my wife mad when we find a locations like this and I experiment with different elevations and left/right/center composition. I am intrigued with what you had for models as there is so much to work with here without the models!   Posted: 12/14/2024 03:05:48

Merry Christmas Quang.I endorse Charles suggestions and agree with his comments. The only small suggestion I would add to enhance the depth of field would be to gently darken from the front of the image into the base of the first tree trunk. the gradient tool would be good to use for that.
