Beach to St Helens, Tasmania, Australia. 18/5/2024, 3.46am.
In May this year we hired a campervan in Tasmania to go Aurora chasing
for a week. 6 of the 7 days were photographically written off by cloud and
whilst the Auroras were blasting away they were blocked from our view.
Our last night was an exception. At 2.00am the skies cleared in time for an
aurora blast around 3.00am.
This photo is not acceptable by my normal standards but I want to share
the adventure and I was thrilled to be able capture some of the action. We
missed the massive blast that had occurred the previous week. That one
was seen with the naked eye in a great array of colours.
I’ve had to work hard on processing, and I would shoot with a significantly
higher ISO on a future Aurora shoot if it was this dark

Kudos to you for your persistence in capturing a very difficult shot so beautifully. I like your photo very much. Your post-processing provided a very appealing image.
