About the Image(s)

This is an image of someone rowing on a lake soon to be lowered several feet to protect docks from ice.
With this image I attempted to capture the feelings one has when a beautiful Fall season gives way to
Winter. After this last row, the scull was put away for the Winter. To render the final image, I cropped it
to draw more attention to the rower, punched up the red, orange and yellow tones, increased contrast
and reduced noise using Topaz AI. Camera stats: Nikon D750, f/5.6, 380mm, 1/800, ISO=500.

Charles: Right time, right place. you certainly did capture the colors and light of a fading Autumn. The rower is clearly the subject and certainly positioned to draw my eyes into the photo. I find the houses on either side of the image a bit distracting; maybe they should be either darkened or blurred a bit. A beautiful image.

I really like the mood set by the colors and low light. Capturing the rower at that moment really adds to the photo. I really like this one.   Posted: 11/21/2024 01:10:23

Hi Charles. I loved the way you bought a really richness and vibrance to the image. Im comfortable with the crop as its a big bold scene. The rower would have disappeared in the dark areas and he adds energy. Great shot and processing. Cheers Brian   Posted: 11/21/2024 03:15:49

Hi Charles, your image is very unique as you have cleverly transformed the overall color of the image to the golden hue of the afternoon. That is the main point that attracts the viewer. The picture is perfect when you shoot with the reflection on the lake to do the transformation. Beautiful thanks for sharing. Well done.   Posted: 11/24/2024 19:10:40
