About the Image(s)
Image Description: This photo is of my wife and son during a family outing at an apple orchard last year. We all were riding in the wagon on the way out to pick apples and they graciously posed for me to get this shot.
I converted this image to black & white using Silver Efex Pro 2 and utilized the Antique Plate II preset. The original (color) photo, processed in LR, is included.
This image was taken with the following: RAW format; Canon 90D camera; Tamron 18-200mm, f/3.5-6.3 zoom lens; aperture f/8.0; shutter speed 1/250; ISO 400; focal length 41mm.

A sweet picture, reminiscent of an old photograph. I love the tones in the photo, almost a sepia. Great shot and great editing.   Posted: 07/03/2024 17:54:27

This could be mistaken for an old family photo from your archives....but then I saw the sweatshirts...modern. I love the way you processed it, love the angle, and the the relationship demonstrated between the subjects.   Posted: 07/04/2024 12:51:25

I concur with what others have already said. This is one place where a negative vignette works well.   Posted: 07/05/2024 14:11:57

GREAT image - love the processing. I can feel the connection/comfort/warmth between them. Although their facial expressions are very different - they're expressing their warm emotion in their own way. Hope you print/display this! I agree that the processing is perfect; reminiscent of an old B&W photo from a family album. I rarely like the white vignette - but it's perfect for this image.   Posted: 07/07/2024 09:31:08

Such a wonderful family photo! The antique preset works very well with this image - was the white vignette part of that preset, or did you add it? Whichever way, it works very well. The whole image has such a warm emotional impact.   Posted: 07/09/2024 22:59:54
Thanks Jennifer! The white vignette was part of the antique preset in Silver EfexPro 2   Posted: 07/09/2024 23:36:14
