About the Image(s)
We had an awesome trip, ⬓National Parks and Lodges of the Old West,⬠including Yellowstone Falls. Taken with Canon EOS R, Canon lens RF 24-105 at 105 mm; ISO 400, f/4.0; 1/5000 sec
Edited in Lr Classic with slightly increased contrast, decreased highlights and whites, slight dehaze, sharpening, and cropping. The image really doesn’t do justice to the beauty of the falls and the depth of the canyon. Called the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

This is a crazy beautiful place! I want to know more about it and go there, like, now. The photo is well-composed and exposed. I suggest darkening the lower left corner, its brightness draws the eye away from the scene, when what you really want is for the viewer to follow the river up to the falls. Great work.   Posted: 07/04/2024 12:54:09

Thank you both. Good thoughts about the lower left corner. This is an absolutely beautiful canyon and falls.   Posted: 07/04/2024 14:10:14

Very nice. Of course, the photograph fails to do justice to the real beauty if the scene. Even the newest and best cameras are incapable of recording the full range of color that our eyes (for most persons) are capable of seeing.   Posted: 07/05/2024 14:25:44

Can't add much to the other comments - beautiful image of an amazing spot! Definitely a spot to return to - so many permutations for how you could frame/expose this scene. One comment on settings - esp if you intended to print - (I have that lens - love it - it's my favorite lens!) - I would have closed the aperture a bit more (perhaps f5.6 or f8). You have enough light, would have enjoyed more depth of field and overall a sharper image. I have definitely found that this lens is not sharpest wide open. Using the base ISO (100) would have also helped. Great work.   Posted: 07/07/2024 09:38:52

Steven, thank you for that thought. I wish I had thought of that, as this is one I would like to print. I'll see how it comes out!!   Posted: 07/07/2024 11:30:03

Beautiful image! The details and the tonal contrasts are excellent. The composition is perfect as my eye follows the river from the falls down to the end, then back up again. Great work, thanks for sharing!   Posted: 07/08/2024 13:15:54

What a great view of the river and the falls! And lovely composition, especially the s-curve of the river leading up to the falls. Very nicely done!   Posted: 07/09/2024 23:15:03
