About the Image(s)
The original iPhone image was taken in November. I experimented with creating a composite - using two copies of the same image. I cropped the image, replicated it, blurred one of the two layers and then played with different blend modes in Ps. I feathered the edge to create a soft vibe. Although the final image that has nothing in focus - for me - it conveyed Fall. I always considered using two different images for a composite. This is a different approach that's fun to play with.

I am so envious of those of you who are good at Ps. Your creativity is amazing. The colors are so vivid. I like that nothing is in focus. Good job.   Posted: 12/05/2025 03:08:26
Hi Steven,
How interesting to composite two copies of the same image! It looks like you played with the color of one of them. I've never used the feathering effect at the edges of a photo - I really like it. I know you said nothing is in focus, but my eyes keep wanting to see part of the background as in focus, but it isn't distracting, just my eyes seeing what they want to see. I wonder if lightening the color of the branches would add to the effect, which really does invoke Fall just as it is.   Posted: 12/08/2025 19:41:20

Tx Jennifer. I did nothing to the color of each layer. I did play with the blend mode in Ps; several multiply/alter the colors in the final blended image.   Posted: 12/11/2025 11:37:53
Great photo! I like the feathered look and soft vibe. This is a good alternative to an image with everything in sharp focus, which can be a little "busy". This image keeps my eyes moving throughout it and is a very good representation of fall. Thanks for sharing!   Posted: 12/11/2025 14:48:45
I like this image a lot. I like that you selected a small segment of the original image by cropping and then experimenting with the use of layers in Ps. I like that you decided to use the original Ps layer and then duplicate it. Blurring the top layer and selecting a blend mode you liked completed the image. Feathering the edges is a nice touch. Did you experiment with the amount of blur you used on the second layer?   Posted: 12/14/2025 19:35:35
Thanks Chan . . . like all things Ps . . . I "added salt to taste" - certainly experimentation is key.   Posted: 12/15/2025 10:45:52
