About the Image(s)
I would like to send out a humminbird photo for this month to be reviewed. The first photo is the original, it was taken in cloud forest, Quito.( ISO 320; 100mm; f/4.5; 1/500sec )
I have done some photoshop processing for the second one, and given the name to the photo as: < Do you hear the music song? >

I think the more lighter background allows you to focus on the hummers. I appears you removed one. Also the edited hummers do not have the rich colors as in the original. However, your focus is very sharp. As one who hasn't gotten a good sharp picture, I salute you.   Posted: 10/04/2025 20:18:41
Tough to photograph these tiny/fast birds! I like the wing blur and sharp body/eyes. In your processing - you brightened the image - making it very high key. To my eye - the hummingbird gets a little lost against the bright background. You also brightened the branch; losing most of its detail/texture. In the attached image - I started with your edited version - darkened the branch and also the background. What do you think?   Posted: 10/05/2025 16:26:26
Beautiful, sharp hummingbirds! I think your decision to remove the third bird was a good one. And your cropping successfully removed a lot of distraction. I agree with Steven that the darker background and branch allow the birds to appear more vibrant. Congratulations on capturing such a fine image!   Posted: 10/06/2025 17:30:38
