About the Image(s)
I was in Costa Rica this month. This was a family vacation that was not dedicated to photography but I did bring my gear in case I got a chance to see some wildlife. I present to you Woody the Woodpecker (in this case a Lineated Woodpecker) pecking away in all his glory. I just adore him.

What a colorful/sharp image! Love it! These guys can create a lot of noise and damage! Despite the crop - you retain excellent detail - at least for social media, etc. The red color makes the image - and the background is nicely blurred.   Posted: 05/08/2025 10:00:51
Very nice image! The sharp detail of the tree branch and the bird are excellent. The composition is very good. The bokeh in the background enhances this image as well. Thanks for sharing this!   Posted: 05/08/2025 12:54:03
I can't add anything to what Steven and Dale have said. The image is tack sharp with a nicely blurred background. The rough tree bark contrasts nicely with the blurred background, but his foot and talons almost blend in-I like that they are evident. Great job!

Will,
The foot and talons on the woodpecker really speak to me! What a wonderful bird and you have captured it so well. The tree with it's roughness and evidence of past activity adds to the whole effect.   Posted: 05/09/2025 04:27:57
