The image kind of shocked me when I first opened it, until I saw the title. Tack sharp throughout, and the arch itself it the leading line. You can't keep your eyes from following it. Nice.   Posted: 12/04/2024 16:09:55

Funny, I wondered whether I should identify the landmark in the title or whether it would be obvious.   Posted: 12/08/2024 01:14:07

Will, what a very creative image. You past on the "tourist snapshot" of an often-photographed landmark and searched for a more creative angle. The conversion to monochrome is well done. I consider this to be a very strong image.   Posted: 12/06/2024 21:34:37

Thank you. Avoiding the snapshot was definitely on my mind ans I spent nearly 2 days just photographing this site.   Posted: 12/08/2024 01:14:46

A creative interpretation of the arch. The mono processing works well; good range of tones. My only comment on the composition is that my eyes follow the arch from the lower left (bright/large structure) - up to the upper right - and then out of the frame. Not sure I have a solution for this given the subject - just an observation.   Posted: 12/06/2024 22:09:26

No solution. Put those eyeballs back in their sockets.   Posted: 12/08/2024 01:15:15

Hi Will,

I love this image - I love the feeling of being lifted up and away. It is so simple and dramatic and there is an amazing amount of tone variation in the arch. Very well done.   Posted: 12/08/2024 00:33:33
