One of the museums in Copenhagen had this interesting old staircase. I was able to get this composition by pre-focusing and then holding the camera at arm's length to trip the shutter. I took a couple different compositions from different angles, but this one appealed to me the most.

Interesting photo. Nice contrast between items in the photo. Could very well be an interesting conversation piece if enlarged and hung.   Posted: 09/06/2023 12:36:04
So glad you posted the original Michael - I was having trouble trying to see a staircase. This is a very appealing abstract with crisp and clean contrasts. The eye follows the line in and out again and I thoroughly enjoy looking at it. Great photo. Well done getting it so sharp holding the camera at arm's length!   Posted: 09/10/2023 06:46:00
Margaret, thank you for your comments. I've always been intrigued by images depicting stairs - spiral stairs in particular. This was the first time I had an opportunity to photograph one. Editing was a bit of a challenge and it took me a long time in Photoshop to remove the distracting stack of modern chairs at the bottom of the staircase.   Posted: 09/22/2023 08:58:11
Hi Michael, you turned the original staircase photo into an artistic and somewhat abstract photo. I liked your interpretation and idea of changing it to a vertical format. I like the contrast and the tone of the photo. Looks great!   Posted: 09/10/2023 12:58:59
Thank you, Debasish. I took several shots of the staircase and played around with orientation in post. This one seemed to work the best.   Posted: 09/22/2023 09:00:36
