Terracotta Warrior by Bill Vogel

August 2026 - Terracotta Warrior

About the Image(s)

During my month-long visit to China a decade ago, I found the Terracotta Warriors fascinating. With each one having a different face. This particular warrior was a little off to one side so I could isolate him.
I traveled with a Sony a77 and a Sony 18-250 lens. The photo was cropped and the tone adjusted in ON1. No other adjustments were made

Good job getting this shot of an individual. I have been there twice, but did not have the lens for a shot like this. What a memorable place to visit. I think you were fortunate to get side lighting and good shadows.   Posted: 08/04/2026 04:12:42

vEry nice picture and edit. My only comment is the spot / shadow behind the warrior on the right hand side.

Such great texture! The light on his shoulders help to show his strength. The light from his forehead drifts down to his eyebrows and lets you just imagine what a fierce warrior he was. Very nice photo.   Posted: 08/12/2026 17:59:19
