About the Image(s)
In mid May, this field at Gibbs Garden, Ball Ground GA, was awash in red poppies with splashes of white, pink and violet. Monochrome was done to capture the tone (rather than the hue) of these colors. Was this successful? Are the people in the background part of the story, or a distraction?
Specs: EOS 6D Mark II camera, EF 24 ??“ 70 mm f2.8L lens
Settings: f11, 1/80 sec, ISO 200, focal length 35, hand held.
Monochrome conversion via Affinity Photo

I would like to see this picture as a pano just showing the poppies with limited foreground and background in color. As to the BW version, good exposure and debth but not as enticing as the color version. I like poppies.   Posted: 07/10/2026 20:49:15
