Taken on Ophir pass road in Colorado with a Sony 99ll, 20 mm Zeiss at f11, ISO 400. The aspen trees are curved due to an avalanche many years ago.

The subject and composition of this image is very impactful.
My only suggestion is to reduce brightness in the background and, if possible eliminate the hot spots.

Hi Bill. I think this is one of your better images to-date. I like the composition, and you've handled the post processing well. Nice tonal range. I'm not sure I'd reduce the background brightness unless you were able to brighten the main tree trunks. I think some contrast between subject and background is needed - either dark trees with light background or vice versa.   Posted: 11/21/2025 00:53:22
The low angle ad the spacing you chose between the trees makes a world of difference from a straight frontal view. Wonderful choice. The black base works as an anchor holding the eye to the subject. Well done
