About the Image(s)

I saw this leaf at my front door and the way the light hit it, made me want to capture that texture.
Then, I decided to expand that as a high key image.
After color tone optimization with Nik Viveza, B&W conversion in Nik Silver Efex with finishing touches in PSE.

I would be interested in the opinion of others as to whether this was successful.

This image was captured with 24 - 70 f2.8 Canon lens using a tripod. 1/4 sec, f22, ISO 200 70mm focal length.

Elise,
This is a very nice composition. I have a question: what is the purpose of the white diagonal line on the right hand leading to the subject?

Thank you, Adi.

The line is because the image was taken rather impulsively on sheets of print paper which I overlapped to cover the area. As Michael suggests I should be able to make it disappear.   Posted: 05/05/2025 23:57:33

Elsie, I like the simple composition and the high-key edit works very well for this subject. Nice detail and a perfect camera angle - a lovely study of form. Adi's comment about the diagonal line was made off my mistakenly-posted "original"...but there is still a hint of it in the monochrome version. Easy fix with only a minor additional edit.   Posted: 05/05/2025 17:49:17

Elise, Very nice image! The overall composition as well as the sharp details of the leaf are excellent. I like the contrast of leaf to background. This holds my attention and in my opinion greatly enhances this photo. Thanks for sharing this!   Posted: 05/05/2025 21:13:25
