About the Image(s)
To create this portrait, I intentionally wet the model's hair to achieve a vulnerable, feminine look that perfectly complemented her sincere gaze straight into the camera. Since the portrait was taken in the summer against a backdrop of vibrant greenery, I converted the photo to black and white to ensure that the viewer's attention remained focused solely on the model's gaze.

When it comes to judging portraiture I have to confess my ignorance so I can only comment on what I like...and I like this image. It is beautifully composed and the eye(s) are tack sharp. Excellent bokeh. Beyond the technical excellence, you have captured her soul and I feel her penetrating gaze. Well done, indeed!

Thank you, Michael!
The photo was made with Nikon D800 and Nikon AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G (my favorite lens for portraits, it always gives amazingly sharp images). The settings was - f/3, 1/100s, ISO 800. Posted: 04/10/2025 14:33:41

This is a very nice portrait, Hanna.
My only suggestion is to reduce the brightness of the jacket clasp / zipper on the right (a very small thing). And, tone down highlights on the left side (her right) of her her nose. But, that may just be my monitor.
Lovely image!

Wow, a perfect portrait. Her expression is unreadable and haunting, her perfecty lit eyes stare right into the viewer. Her skin is lit from the right bringing out the texture, and with a subtle lighting of the hair from the left gives it a very cinematic look. Very nice balance, it draws the viewer in. I have trouble looking away. Again wow. Posted: 04/21/2025 09:34:47
I Like very much the tonality from black to white from left to middle. Very good portrait. Is it staged?
