About the Image(s)
This image was taken in a photo event that Illinois Railroad Museum held for photographers. We had a great opportunity to practice night mode photography.
The model posed to us with various poses, the light was a spot working light which produced quite harsh light.
I tried to bright the shadow but that also introduced some noise. Overall I think the image quality is not optimum but I do like the atmosphere it presents.

Don, you always amaze me with your images. While I'm generally not a fan of posed models, this one doesn't have the "themed-portrait-photography-workshop" look or feel to it. It really looks authentic to me. I have no issues with the image quality and for me it is an interesting and engaging, well conceived and processed photograph. I like it a lot.   Posted: 11/06/2024 23:21:55

Don - This picture reminds me of work done in the 50s. The noise, the lighting, the posing, the negative space, the angle of sight, they all fit very well together! My only suggestion would be to tone down the light on the right side of the picture. Don't eliminate it, just tone it down so that it doesn't compete with the engineer. Overall, an awesome picture.   Posted: 11/06/2024 23:50:22

Don,
I agree this is an impressively awesome image. Thank you for sharing it!
In addition to the lighting, the textures on the car and ground are great!

Indeed, the picture really does echo many 1950's images, at the time, recording the ever-expanding Industrial Revolution in the US.
Outside of seeing a test-print, in my opinion, I would change nothing!
Well composed and presented!   Posted: 11/12/2024 11:53:15
