Very intriguing composition. I love the pigeon looking at me then realizing that so is the painted couple in the window. Finally the 2 Saints anker a powerful triangle. Job well done!   Posted: 11/06/2024 23:45:06

This is an interesting image, Michael.
All eyes are looking front. But, I am curious about what might be around the bend on the right.

I truly love the overall balance and tonal gamut you choose for this subject. Well done!
"Points to Ponder"
My comments echo Michel's, but I will also add, as we are currently well situated into the digital photography revolution ... anyone seeing this image may very well believe it is "Conceptual Art" in virtue of the seemingly cartoonish couple peering out the window: so, my question is, what is this? Perhaps a Title would help direct viewers' "appreciation"?   Posted: 11/20/2024 11:24:30

Hi Lance. Thank you for your comment and question.
The cartoonish couple peering out the window is an art installation - one of many similar window installations throughout the city of Avignon. I found the circumstances quite comical. The couple in the window seemingly looking down at the hapless pigeon. And the pigeon posing for my camera. I tried to come up with a clever title but nothing clever enough came to mind.
Maybe the group could put its collective head together and come up with an appropriate title?   Posted: 11/20/2024 14:50:44

M,
a very good one. I have a question though: If the pigeon is the subject and the stairs and the wall are the background why the white spot on the left ? This is an excellent picture try different crops

Hi Adi. White spot on the left?? I don't see to what you are referring. Thanks for your comments.   Posted: 11/29/2024 22:55:47

Great composition! Love the pigeon which made the picture IMHO. I am wondering what your thought is if you straighten the building and bottom step line.   Posted: 11/30/2024 00:29:25

Thanks, Don. Thanks for the comments. I believe I did some perspective correction. Keep in mind this was a 28mm lens and I was actually pretty close to the bird, so distortion is inevitable. In this case the lens distortion doesn't really bother me.   Posted: 11/30/2024 00:36:41

A well done composition and tones that is as serious view and then that pigeon stuck in just made me burst out laughing. Great   Posted: 11/30/2024 16:23:27

Glad you found the humor, Clark. It was intentional!   Posted: 11/30/2024 16:27:42
