Every spring , Cedar Waxwings visit just down the road. Watching these beautiful birds feast on the berries is something I look foward to every year and brings me such joy.

What an awesome image!! I especially love the amazing blur of the wings, and the lovely bokeh in the background really sets the Waxwing off. The colors are beautiful. It might just be my monitor, but would raising the exposure a little on the bird help it stand out? Very nicely done   Posted: 10/02/2026 15:31:35
Kathleen, great capture! I like the crop and placement of the bird especially the diagonal slope of its wings. The eye is sharp. The wings blend in with the background - using a slightly higher aperture and a higher ISO might have brought the wings into focus but still left the background blurred. what lens did you use and was it handheld? Very nice image.   Posted: 10/08/2026 10:42:43
Thank you. I used a Tamron 50-400 handheld. It was so sudden that I spotted it, so I went with my settings.   Posted: 10/08/2026 16:59:13
Golly are you ever lucky. Nopt sure why the feathers are so grainy but the composition and the lighting are exquisite.   Posted: 10/09/2026 20:40:58
