About the Image(s)
This is a view of the Ogunquit River going to the Atlantic with Ogunquit Beach on the far side of the river. I have never been on the beach or in the ocean in spite of numerous trips to Ogunquit - the water is just too cold!
This image was captured with a Nikon Z 6II with a Z 24-120mm lens at 24mm. The shutter speed was 1/125 sec with ’/8 and ISO=2200. Post-processing was on Lightroom Classic applying Adaptive Color Profile and 16:9 aspect ratio crop.

It looks like it might be low tide there with that beautiful coastline. I like how the shoreline and sandbars guide my eyes toward the distant beach. The beautiful colors and sharp details really capture the beauty of Ogunquit Beach. This photo would look very nice on a wall. I am with you, just photography and no cold water.   Posted: 07/08/2026 23:06:58
Such a peaceful spot - I'll bet you go there often. The horizontal line of the beach is very pleasing and draws my eyes back and forth, and the sky adds to the image with the unusual clouds. I love seeing the few people enjoying the day. Beautiful tonality.

Harrison, I am often disappointed when I try to capture a mountainous scene with a wide angle lens. The mountains that looks majestic in front of me are flattened out due to the lens distortion. What you have done here is absolutely beautiful and to my way of thinking, is a wide angle lens at its best.
I love the expanse of beach with the large rocks up close, and the distant buildings and people getting gradually smaller in proportion to the distance. The colors are vibrant, yet the scene is peaceful. I was once told that as a technical composition rule, the sky should not occupy more than 1/3 of the landscape in an image unless it is the subject of the image. While some of the sky could be cropped in this image, I love it just the way it is, especially since the clear blue sky found higher up adds much to the scene.   Posted: 07/14/2026 00:21:14
