Bluebird youngsters and a cardinal fledgling are eating mealworms that I put on my deck. This was the first time that a young cardinal joined them. I have a nesting box with bluebirds that come every year. "Bluebirds of Happiness" is so true!

This is a truly great shot Kathleen! It is a treat to see the young bluebirds and cardinal; a real lesson in the way their color develops as they get more mature. I love your mealworm dish. Kathleen, you always have such interesting shots... I love the attitude that you caught from the one "talking"! A smaller aperture might have brought the other birds a little more in focus, but it's a great image nonetheless. Posted: 07/11/2025 12:25:18
