About the Image(s)
Here is my photograph for July.
Image Description
Title - The Sun Waited Too
Place - Bharatpur,India
Camera - Nikon Z8
Lens - Nikkor 180-600mm
Exif - f6.3, 1/400s and ISO400
How I Did it : It was unexpectedly a foggy morning.Few Nilgais were crossing the small water body to reach the other side.Due to heavy fog,it formed a nice reflection. Taken in raw ,I used lightroom for processing.I have tried to bring emphasis to the reflections of the animal. As a final step ,added vignetting for the image to create the mood.
Thanks

I was not familiar with this animal, so this was a great learning experience for me. It looks like there was also a good collection of waterbirds in the area, which adds interest and provides scale.
I like your focus on the reflections in processing and the vignette really directs the eye to the Nilgais.
Your settings look good.. at what mm were you shooting?

Hi Teresa,
Thanks for your comments.
The photograph was taken at Keoladeo National Park, at Bharatpur(comonly referred as Bharatpur). This national park is known for the winter migrant birds, waterbirds, raptors,Sarus Crane. Few mammals like Nilgai,Spooted Deer are also present within the park.
I have used Nikkor 180-600mm lens and photographed at 480mm.   Posted: 07/07/2025 08:50:58

Thank you for the additional information. It sounds like a fascinating place! Since you didn't have to use all of your zoom, the animals must not be too aggressive?   Posted: 07/20/2025 09:06:49

What an interesting image! The dark, moody background certainly sets off the Nilgais (totally new to me) and the way they are lit makes them very eye-catching. Nicely done!   Posted: 07/11/2025 12:16:43

Nature photography is my favorite, so this is very interesting. Like the others, I have never heard of this type of antelope. What a great photo with the reflections, lighting, background, and the Nilgais aligned in a straight line. I would love to visit this park after seeing your photo!
