Frederick Maryland is about 15 miles north of where I live. Each year the historic section of town holds a celebration of their history. There are a variety of displays and re-enactors. This gentleman and I chatted about his being a black man who is representing the people like him who participated in the American Revolution against England. In a cluttered and busy setting I moved in closer to capture just him, wanting to capture this proud, kind and involved man.

Very nice image and story. I just finished reading "Killing the Witches," which included stories of the American Revolution and cited free black men and their part in the battle against Great Britain.

Great image of a proud, confident man. It looks like he really enjoyed the role he was playing.
I'm sure this must be just me, but my eyes seem to land on the man's hands then I work my way up to his face. I wonder if a bit more space at the top might help my initial look to land on his face. Posted: 01/08/2025 17:23:49
