I was visiting Sudbury Ontario and came across this buiding. It is an old hospital that was decommissioned and replaced with a new, larger one. It didn’t take long for the graffiti artists to start their handy work on the building. The authorities tries to stop them but were not able to. Then someone got the wonderful idea of staging a contest and letting people submit their designs for the building. I believe what you see is an amalgamation of a few designs. I think it is terrific although city inhabitants are quite torn on this - many love it and many despise it. FYI - I belong to Digital Study Group #9 and I posted an earlier version of this image there. I’ve done some more work on the image and wanted to post here.
Q3, f/5.6, ISO = 400 and shutter speed = 1/250 sec. Processed with ACR / PS and a lot of tweaking with Studio 2 and Viveza.

This is truly amazing! I love how it's painted, although I guess that I can see the opposing view as well. The clouds really create a mood, and add to this perfect composition. I would like to see the building a little brighter.   Posted: 12/05/2024 15:35:33

wow , great image with even better story. I loved the way artists have brought back life to a old discarded structure.   Posted: 12/08/2024 14:00:05

It is colorful and different, and your interesting story makes it unique. To accomplish this, one must have used some very tall work of art, ladders, or platforms.   Posted: 12/08/2024 15:40:21

Keith--What a wonderful find. I understand the Love/Hate relationship with the building from the neighbors. It is a one-of-a-kind image; I bet you have more angles than this one.   Posted: 12/09/2024 20:50:58

Jerry, this facility is fenced but I was lucky in that the gate at the back was open. I figured it was an invitation for me to explore. Got about 30 shots covering 360 degrees. The perimeter fence was an obstacle but the image I finally selected was my fav.   Posted: 12/17/2024 01:44:40
