About the Image(s)

I don’t do this often but I found myself recently looking up at the sky and watching birds play. This one caught my eye. It seemed different. It seem to be searching for something it could not find. It was still for a moment and I shot the image.

Image captured with iPhone 13 Pro Max. Post processing editing for sharpness and color

Lovely looking bird that I believe is a Red Cardinal.
You did well to capture it. The bird stands out because of it's colour.
Unfortunately none of the image appears to be sharp and is a little soft which is a shame. If you see him again try and get a bit nearer to get a sharper image. Nature shots are not easy!!!   Posted: 07/08/2024 14:35:05

Noted and thank you. I agree and will try to improve in future attempts to capture bird images.   Posted: 07/29/2024 14:31:38

You did a great job of capturing the cardinal. I have birds come near my deck a lot, and I find it very hard to capture one, especially close up. I also liked how you have the bird framed by the branches of the tree. But even though I said that you might want to try cropping the bottom group of leaves out, and a little from the right. That should enlarge the bird a bit, and still leave plenty of a frame with the branches.   Posted: 07/09/2024 23:06:04

Thanks for the kind words and the acknowledgement that birds are difficult to capture. I agree more cropping at the bottom of the image will improve the focus on the bird for a better composition.   Posted: 07/29/2024 14:32:34

Birds are difficult to capture. The Cardinal stands out from the branches and leaves. Zooming in or cropping would improve the image and add more focus to the bird. Also, the bird is not sharp. It appears that the focus was more on the bottom leaves. You could try clicking on the area of the screen that you want in focus. Good attempt at taking photo of a bird as they are often skittish.   Posted: 07/10/2024 19:34:12

Great attempt at catching that cardinal, Jo-Ann! I have been working on trying to get a decent shot of a Bluebird that is new to my area. It's not easy! I like how the branches and leaves frame your photo, but it is unfortunate that it's not sharper. Keep trying and you will get him! That's what I'm doing!   Posted: 07/17/2024 00:07:33
