About the Image(s)

I have taken two images and put them together.

The first image was taken in Yorktown, Virginia when I was there with a group. It was a permanent reenactment of a settlement of years ago.

I found an old map of the USA and photographed it.

Then I selected the subject and moved it onto the map in Photoshop. I named it "Studying the Map".

Lovely image of the three men studying the map? Moving them onto the image of a map was a good way to get rid of the distracting background.Re-enactments are a great way to get loads photos!!
All lovely and sharp and the red on their uniform really makes them stand out.
I might have blurred or reduced the opacity of the map but that's only my view. A good image.
Well done.   Posted: 07/05/2024 15:40:34

Love the concept of combining these two images! Really worked well in my opinion! Great job Rose!   Posted: 07/06/2024 21:19:07

Rose, I liked the subject matter, and the image is very sharp and it does tell a story of three colonial men discussing something serious. The men are a little squeezed in the photo, zooming back just a little so there is some room on the right and left might have helped, but also easier said than done at times.   Posted: 07/09/2024 23:17:42

Rose, very creative, and I love it. I do agree a bit more room on the sides would help, as well as blurring out the background a bit, which adds depth to the image and keeps us focus on the three men. The faces and the clothes seem a bit flat, and I think some texture, clarity, and contrast would help.   Posted: 07/10/2024 18:06:35

I think it was a great idea to put the map behind the men. I think it adds to the story! They are clearly discussing strategy or directions!😄. The reenactment people would probably like this for their advertising! I think you got a great shot at the event, but made it even better!   Posted: 07/17/2024 00:15:40

Rose your creativity and imagination inspired a great composition that tells a story! I love it... but I agree that a blur of the map in the background would enhance the prominence of the image of the men in the foreground.   Posted: 07/29/2024 14:51:17
