About the Image(s)

I went to a museum last week in a small town. They had a bowl of artificial fruit and I took a photo with my phone.

One of the assignments for our Camera Club was “Abstract”. Not anything I did before!

I took the image into Photoshop. I duplicated the layer and added a Gausion blur (quite a bit) so it does not show what it is.
Then I went into free transform and enabled the warp mode. Then I played with it to distort and stretch the image.
Then I took it into the blend mode and tried different ones for different effects. You can repeat this process several times and distort it in various ways.
I had fun playing with it.

This is brilliant and I wish it was mine!! Definitely going to try and have a go myself!!
The subject choice is just right for this process as you need a lot of colour to carry it off.
Nothing negative to say aboout it, well done!!   Posted: 10/01/2026 14:40:55

Colors and "swirling object" are wonderfully positioned and dynamic! Your source of reference is fascinating! Beautiful abstract!   Posted: 10/01/2026 16:19:31

Very Nice Abstract. You did a good job of creating a 3D object that does convey some movement. The red and green apples worked really well with a good mix of the two colors.

My photo club also likes to get us out of our comfort zones, and I am glad you had fun with this.   Posted: 10/02/2026 18:36:18

Thanks for your comments. Yes, Camera Clubs do provide us challenges!
I usually try to do at least one image for each assignment. It is not a requirement for the club, but as you said, it gets us out of our comfort zone.   Posted: 10/02/2026 21:31:52
