An air show was held near our home. We spent the day watching demonstrations of various aircraft which ended with the Blue Angels taking to the air. This photo was shot at 1/2500 of a second at f/11, ISO 400. It was a nice day watching all the aircraft take flight that day.

Seeing how fast these planes go you have done a good job to get them so sharp!! The diagonal works very well and there is enough space in front for them to move into.
I wonder if taking a bit of blue out of the sky and raising the shadows on the aircraft would make them stand out even more?

That was well done to have all 4 planes sharp at the same time. The lettering on the planes is very clear. The smoke trails add to the story.

Wonderful capture! I like the motion and the almost monochromatic blue color scheme, which creates an even more dramatic composition! The yellow lettering adds "punch" to the image! Nice! Posted: 10/01/2026 22:38:04

Great job to get this photo. Really good choice on the shutter speed resulting in a very sharp image of each plane. The planes are also very well-spaced and I like how you get a different view of each plane. The lighting is really good overall, but maybe play with the contrast on the clouds a bit, and make them a little less blue. A very nice shot. Posted: 10/02/2026 18:49:11
