About the Image(s)

While on a safari in Tanzania, we came across a Vervet monkey sitting in a tree watching the world around him. His gaze caught my eye and was able to photograph him before he left. This was at 1/800th of a second a f/8.0 with an ISO of 2000.

A lovely portrait of the monkey and all lovely and sharp but nicely blurred background. The monkey is well framed by the tree.
Did wonder whether a square crop would work? See what you think?   Posted: 07/03/2026 21:00:37

What a great capture. The monkeys eyes stand out and he is looking at you. It is probably as curious to see you as you it.
Lots of detail in the fur. The framing of the tree makes the viewers' eye go to the monkey. I do agree with Angela in that cropping would allow more focus on the monkey.

Great capture. You caught the monkey while he was looking right at you. A lot of detail in both the monkey's coat and the tree. The blurred background helps out a lot. I agree with Rose that my eyes go right to the monkey. Well done.   Posted: 07/09/2026 01:58:24
