About the Image(s)

I took this photo because it was Golden Hour and the colors were beautiful in person, but later found out the colors were even more vibrant in the photo. I did do some very minimal tweaking of shadows and highlights. I did not add color.
Taken with my Leica V-Lux 3.

Makes me cold just looking at the image!!.
Like the way you have managed to get more colouring to show where the suns rays are on the snow and exposure has been handled well.
Perhaps a slightly more narrow border but that is just my opinion.
Well done.   Posted: 04/04/2026 14:11:59

I always like winter scenes, and I think you did really well in depicting the beauty that can be seen this time of year. I really liked what you did bringing out the shadows in snow. And I like the border.

How much sun to show in a photograph is always a matter of opinion. To me it is a little bright. Just a little. Maybe in your editor you play with the exposure or temperature if you want. Just a thought. Overall, the photo is very well done.   Posted: 04/07/2026 00:30:56

Beautiful scene. Bringing out the shadows really works well and shows more texture in the snow. The sun is a bit bright as that where the eye goes. Perhaps tone it down in post processing, e.g. Lightroom or Photoshop   Posted: 04/15/2026 14:55:44

Janet, the Leica V-Lux 3 really captured that Golden Hour magic! Your highlight and shadow adjustments beautifully reveal the snow's texture. While the sun is quite bright, the vibrancy is stunning. It's a wonderful depiction of winter's quiet beauty. Well done!   Posted: 04/17/2026 23:38:04

This is a nice winter landscape shot. The light is the star as you captured this image during golden hour. The warm glow against the cool-blue snow creates a beautiful color contrast. The snow path in the foreground draws the eye back toward the trees line and the sun giving the image depth. The lens flare adds a bit of magic rather than a distraction.

The snow mounds at the bottom look a little heavy to me; a slightly higher angle or tighter crop could shift more weight to that stunning sky and light.

A nice image.   Posted: 04/19/2026 03:25:12
