A tea for two by Rose Norman

April 2026 - A tea for two

About the Image(s)

I had some roses give to me so I thought I should make a photo with them.
The background is a piece of material. The white is a tablecloth. I added the statue to go along with the theme. (I tried it with a candle but it was not as effective.)
The blue stood out for me as that was the focus.

Nice photograph, very well done. The use of the statue and the colors of the different objects work well with the theme, that I believe is of a couple who have gotten together for tea. If look up the definitions, white and blue symbolize trust, devotion and loyalty. I can't suggest much to change, maybe bring out the shadows a little, but everything is arranged very well, and the image is very sharp.   Posted: 04/01/2026 14:18:35

Lovely still life and the placement of all is very well done. Lovely and sharp and exposure/colours spot on. If that is real Wedgewood you are lucky!!!
I do feel that it seems to be sloping towards the front and wonder whether a lower view point would have helped with that?
Well done.   Posted: 04/01/2026 14:37:13

Thank you for your suggestion. Looking at it now I think I should've got down lower. The only problem with that is that it would not show the top of the cups as well. Yes, that is real Wedgewood. It is a tea set with a tea pot, sugar, and cream and 4 cups and saucers. A gift from my husband a number of years ago. I am usually afraid to use it so I wash it every couple times a year and put it back in the dining room hutch. A shame really.   Posted: 04/01/2026 19:19:36

Rose, the Wedgwood is exquisite! You captured the blue beautifully, and the statue adds a thoughtful touch to the "tea for two" theme. The sharpness is excellent. I appreciate the high-angle view-it highlights the delicate details inside the cups perfectly.   Posted: 04/17/2026 23:39:21

An elegant still life composition! The blue of the Wedgwood china, the matching linen napkin, and the soft grey background create a harmonious, calming palette. This feels very deliberate and sophisticated. The arrangement has wonderful depth - the tray in the foreground, the sculpture and flowers rising behind it creates a natural, pleasing hierarchy for the eye to travel through. The white roses and baby's breath add softness and a romantic, timeless quality that complements the classical feel of the china perfectly.

The wooden tray reads as slightly off-center, a minor crop adjustment may help.

Overall, this is a beautifully styled, still life. The color coordination shows a strong eye for design!   Posted: 04/19/2026 03:34:28
