Mordor by Janet McLaughlin

December 2025 - Mordor

About the Image(s)

I was walking with my dog, in my yard, when fog started to settle. When I saw this, the first thing I thought of was Mordor, from Lord of the Rings! I thought the fog and the sky made this scene look ominous! This is straight from the camera except for the frame.

Lovely image. Really like the zig zag of the mist going through the trees. Lots of detail in the sky.
Nit picking could take out what seems to bbe the tops of fence posts at the base?
Well done.   Posted: 12/06/2025 22:23:37

Well Done. Looks like a real foggy morning. The photograph is really well balanced between the sky, the forest and the field in the foreground. It is also very sharp with a real good exposure. The gray clouds and the fog did make me take notice of the photo. My nitpick is the frame, and it is real picky. The frame does not distract from the photograph, but I'm not sure that it helps either. But overall, really well done.   Posted: 12/07/2025 23:35:44

Nice shot. The movement of the fog around the image really sets the tone for the photo. Would cropping out the foreground change the way you wee the photo?   Posted: 12/11/2025 03:13:29

Beautiful calm image. The yellow from the sun coming through the clouds adds interest. Cropping the bottom to get of posts? would improve the image. I did not even notice the frame until I read Kurt's message. Perhaps because it is on a black background. I agree that it does not add to the photo as it is lovely without it.   Posted: 12/17/2025 23:27:26
