About the Image(s)
I was walking my dog and came across this interesting critter. Using my phone to look it up it says it’s a Hummingbird Clearwing. Most people just call them a Hummingbird Moth. They look like baby Hummingbirds and hover like a Hummingbird. This one was taking a break and perching on the flower. I took quite a few pictures of him, but really liked this one because he turned his head to look at me. I did some minor adjustments and cropping.

We have these creatures in the UK and I did manage a long time ago to get one flying but not easy.
For some reason the image is very pixelated? The original is not so bad. Not too sure what has happened but it does spoil the image which is a shame.
I like the diagonals and the way the petal of the flower is ing into the image. You can just make out his proboscis just uning. The leaf coming in top left is a bit distracting.

Good photograph. It has to be hard to get a shot of the hummingbird clearwing. The photo could be a little sharper, but I like what you did with the editing. The colors in the edited version are really good, and the cropping helps to focus on the hummingbird. Well Done. Posted: 10/06/2025 01:27:45
