About the Image(s)
This year, I was honoured to be invited to submit two of my digital artworks to a group affiliated with Art Basel in Switzerland. The experience was unforgettable??”I have never encountered such an extraordinary concentration of creativity in one place. It was, at times, overwhelming, yet deeply inspiring.
During Art Basel, the city of Basel itself transforms into a living canvas, welcoming artists, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts from across the globe. Everywhere you turn, there is art??”ranging from the beautifully mundane to the boldly avant-garde.
The image I’m sharing here was taken at an outdoor exhibit opening where 4??“5 artists presented site-specific installations. These works, set apart from the main venue, embraced the experimental spirit of the avant-garde while remaining very much a part of the larger event. This particular installation was nestled within an enclosed space, surrounded by natural grounds and a scattering of onlookers.
In framing this photograph, I chose to crop out the surrounding context??”the landscape and incidental figures??”to draw attention entirely to the artwork itself.

I felt that your crop was a bit too tight on the left side but appreciated why you had done so. I tried a generative expand and felt this looked a bit better? See what you think?

Also congratulations to you being invited that event.   Posted: 07/06/2025 19:38:00
This is an interesting building. The crop was a little tight. Perhaps just cropping a little on top and left and then removing the people in post such as in Photoshop. That way you keep most of the image but without the distraction of the people.   Posted: 07/09/2025 23:00:33
