About the Image(s)
This is a photo I captured with my iPhone. After looking at it, I thought it looked like fireworks! It seemed rather appropriate since we are about to celebrate the 4th of July, here.
I cropped the photo and removed the bit of orange in the lower right corner and that is all I did. They caught my eye because they were so bright and cheerful!

If I am right I think these are Mesembryanthemums which are lovely plants. Not seen any for sale this year in the UK!!
They are bright and cheerful flowers and as you say look like fireworks. Glad you got rid of the half one bottom right of the image.
Only thing that might have improved it was to use a diffuser which would have got rid of the specular highlights on the petals?

The colour of the flowers really stand out. They do resemble fireworks but even without that comparison, I think it works well. Could the specular highlights have been diffused in post processing?   Posted: 07/04/2025 21:45:42
This is a lovely photo. When I first opened our group caught my eyes right away. I liked the color and the flowers.   Posted: 07/06/2025 19:21:28

Sharp clear image. Well centered also. You did a good job on the cropping. Also, a good job removing the flower in the lower right corner, that was a distraction. I love the work that you do with your iPhone, but it is hard to get a bokeh with a phone. The dark foliage in the upper left corner I thought worked really well, but if you good decrease the exposure on the foliage on the right just a little, that would help bring the viewers eye to the flowers. Really good shot.   Posted: 07/07/2025 00:36:31
Janet: This is nicely done. The blossoms' shape and colors do remind me of fireworks. Your image is well balanced and pleasing to the eye. If I could suggest one enhancement it would be to tone down the exposure on the petals.

Janet, thank you for sharing "Fireworks." The vibrancy and composition truly spark joy-an apt metaphor for July celebrations. You've captured the essence of summer with a simplicity that's both compelling and authentic.
From an artistic lens, the cropping was a smart decision, enhancing focus and eliminating distraction. The strong central composition and saturated colors give the image its celebratory feel.
For growth: consider subtle adjustments to highlights, as noted by others. A light touch in post-processing might deepen impact without compromising the natural charm.
Overall, a delightful, eye-catching submission. Keep capturing what brings you joy!
