About the Image(s)
This image was taken with my Nikon 7100 with a 105mm macro lens. It was taken in a studio setting on my kitchen table with natural light against a white background, In post-processing, I adjusted the contrast, clarity and vibrance a little to bring out the vibrant color and shapes. I added a textured background and border to create the feeling of a botanical illustration in the style of an Audubon graphic. It occurred to me that this dahlia appears to be wearing a Phyllis Diller hairstyle.

As usual, a lovely portrait. The coloring in the image and the framing is very nice. It could be the "hairstyle" is because the flower is on it's way out?   Posted: 07/10/2024 05:26:11

Thanks, Marti. I think the hairdo was just an unruly bloom because it was recently picked. I do have some images of dahlias in their decline and they are beautiful in their own unique way.   Posted: 07/15/2024 18:56:47

Ingrid, beautiful image enhanced by the background and border, good texture to highlight all those petals and I can't think of anything I would change.   Posted: 07/12/2024 20:33:41

Hi Ingrid, this is just gorgeous, really like the complementary colours of the background to the flower and the added bonus is that striking border. Like Bob, I don't think I could add anything of any value.   Posted: 07/16/2024 11:20:42

Ingrid, this is lovely. The background is perfect in texture and color and the flower is interesting. The only note I'd give you is that you missed a small area on the right side of the flower's border where I can still see the white wall background. Easy fix. . . . Nice job.   Posted: 07/19/2024 21:18:12

Really beautiful. Everything is so perfect -- I might eliminate the little hole in the bottom about in the middle.   Posted: 07/23/2024 01:06:58
