Shot with an Olympus OM 1, Olympus 90mm macro lens, 1/250 sec., f/ 7.1, ISO 1000. There are many Dahlia society trial gardens across the country. The purpose is to see how some mystery dahlia tubes look like and fare in different climates. I know this is not at its peak, but I love the signs of degeneration

Doug, I agree the dahlia tubes are interesting. You did a great job of isolating the background behind the Dahlia. I do think that the drying of the tubes provide a good
focus point of the image. I've been softening/Blur the backgrounds of most flower images as that removes any distracting details and puts interest of the subject.
