About the Image(s)
This " Yellow Bell Orchid DDG 80," was shot at a separate location on the outskirts of Dhaka City. As I visited this place and found this beautiful tree of the "Yellow Bell Orchid" tree flower and tree full of this flowers. I loved it immediately.
I used my Samsung S 23 camera for the images (It was early afternoon and I shot hand held ). I captured the image without using a flash. I used free version of windows photo editor for editing and post processing (to crop, discard & slight light correction) out of the original image before submission.
I hope you enjoy the image and kindly give me your feedback.

Kamal, this is a beautiful flower and you have done a great job capturing it and making the yellow color more appealing in my mind. You did a great job of removing the distracting light colors in the bottom half of the image. I wish you had done the same on the light areas of the top half. I find the gray colors most distracting and unnatural.

Hi Kamal. This is a lovely flower in both shape, color and orientation. The point of view you selected is excellent, showing the shapes and the 3D nature of the bloom, as well as d the delicate texture of the petals. I agree with Marti about the crop and the light grey flowers near the main flower. Her closer crop really highlights the flower more effectively, but that's an easy edit once you have the flower in such sharp focus.

Hi Kamal, you've done an excellent job in bringing out the yellow tones of this orchid, it appears a bit washed out in the original. Although you've brought out the yellow, somehow in the process the end result looks dull and flat. To bring some contrast back you might use the curve adjustment layer and adjust at both shadow and midtones. You can darken the background with a curves adjustment layer and then just mask out the flower. I like Marti's crop. Here is an example of what you can do with just using curves adjustment layers.   Posted: 08/17/2026 11:32:37
Hi Nadia,
Greetings my friend.
A lovely edit on my current edition. And I think, I like it more than my submitted edition. Once again, I admit you are the Wizardess of Photogrpahy.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Cheers.

I like Nadia's version. To be really successful, I think the flower needs to show some detail in the petals & not have such a dark undifferentiated center.   Posted: 08/20/2026 16:12:44
