About the Image(s)
Flowers aren't yet happening in these parts, so I decided to share an image of a winter version of Colorado flora. This image was taken with my Sony RX10iv, out of my car window while caught in a traffic jam on the way to ski country. I was attracted to the shadows on the snow contrasted with the stark leafless tree. It was taken at 140mm, 1/2500 of a sec. F 11, ISO 100. I left in the small branch coming out of the snow to the right, but would be interested in opinions on whether I should remove it.

Stark-just like winter. The vertical tree and the layers of the snow make a nice contrast. I didn't notice the small branch on the right until you mentioned it and then I was going back and forth between the two. For that reason, I would vote to remove it.   Posted: 04/04/2026 15:53:48
Great winter scene. The horizontal drifts against the solid vertical are visually striking and add tension. I love the blue! I too would remove the tiny branch. Great job. A wall hanger.   Posted: 04/06/2026 21:40:07
Ingrid, you managed to take this stark Colo winter scene and see how the blue shadows added so much. You might of driven past this tree multiple times but not in that light. I think I would leave the small branch on the right coming out of the snow.
It brings your eyes further into the image. If it were in the shadows, then remove it.
