About the Image(s)
Poney (Australian spelling) flower. The first flowering poney in my garden. Again, shot on cold, rainy Spring day. Hand held with Canon 90D, 100-400mm lens, 1/250 sec, f8, ISO 500. Basic CR adjustments, then removed background and placed some textures. I increased contrast as well as saturation to bring out the pink toning, I then added a gradient to give a bit of a “smoky” look.

Stunning image. The background is very nice and switching to a left to right view of the flower works very well. Nice job.   Posted: 12/04/2025 20:35:20
Nadia, a beautiful color to this Poney an I really like the texture of the flower petals. I think I would have also shot a view of the center, but maybe that's not idea as I'm not finding a good shot of that. Of course your backgrounds are fantastic, as well as highlighting the water drops.   Posted: 12/07/2025 16:32:51
Another great image. The water drops and background really make this. There are a few areas on the flower itself that are a bit of a drawback for me. Maybe a bit of cloning to reduce them? Anyway, nice job!   Posted: 12/08/2025 18:48:51
Actually, this is not my favorite image of yours. In the original, more of the peony rose is pick; I'm not sure darkening the bottom works, and I think the colors are over saturated, losing the delicacy of the original. Also, I'm not sure that the rectangular shape of the blossom is appealing.   Posted: 12/08/2025 23:45:06
Hi Nadia. I love the delicate nature of this Peony and the water droplets create a lovely feeling in this image. As always, you have done a great job in removing the background and replacing it with a nice complementary texture. Flipping the composition horizontally was also a good choice. My only disappointment is the amount of browning and damage on the back 1/4 of the bloom. It's not enough decay to qualify as a wabi sabi presentation, and so I find it distracting. It might be time consuming, but I bet you'd be able to reduce the appearance of damage in PhotoShop.   Posted: 12/15/2025 00:12:46
I'm going to agree with Ingrid about the browning. At first glance the way it's lit has me looking at the front of the flower so the back part isn't as noticeable but it's still there. I still like the image though.   Posted: 12/16/2025 22:36:59
