About the Image(s)

This image was taken with my Nikon D7100 with a 105mm Macro lens. ISO 200, 1/1000, ISO 200. It was captured at a Botanical Garden in Traverse City, Mi this summer. In post, I cropped and changed the angle of the flower, as well as darkening the background to black.

Another stunning image! Love the change of position of the flower. My only picky comment is that I wished you had not cropped so tight on the bottom.   Posted: 11/07/2025 16:44:32

Thanks, Marti. I agree about the placement too close to the bottom and realized it as soon as I saw it posted!   Posted: 11/15/2025 23:56:14

I'm forgiving the tight crop as Ingrid did a super job of getting off the sick bed and submitting it under and hour. I like the orientation of the gold eye glasses on the top right. Maybe that's how Waldo can be found? Chat GBT didn't know either.
Fantastic work Ingrid. Get better soon.   Posted: 11/10/2025 03:54:10

Thanks, Bob. Still coughing, but getting my energy back. Regarding Waldo, I just thought the little sunglasses outcropping looked like Waldo in a busy scene...   Posted: 11/15/2025 23:58:26

Beautiful image. The colors are killer and you captured great detail. Like Marti, a little more breathing room at the bottom would help, but other than that, great job.   Posted: 11/14/2025 00:13:28

Thanks, Rich. Definitely agree about the breathing room on the bottom, and disappointed in my unforced error!   Posted: 11/15/2025 23:59:19

Hi Ingrid,
Greetings my friend.
Another lovely editions from your end.
I love the way you have separated the main subject and put up with a black background for the frame. The concept of placing the subject diagonally also added up to the presentation. The light, color and concept are truly amazing.
Thank you for sharing.
Cheers.

Quite beautiful. The colors, orientation, and lighting all work. I would add more at the bottom.   Posted: 11/15/2025 02:02:54

Thanks, Doug. How could I have missed the lack of space at the bottom, especially since I had complete control over the composition? At least it's unanimous!   Posted: 11/16/2025 00:00:57

Another of your stunning images Ingrid. Just love the deep red and the detail of the center. The fact that the colours are so dominant, great detail and attention "grabbing" that the petals so close to the bottom edge is ignored.   Posted: 11/18/2025 10:43:45
